Split-sites

This optional feature allows you to manage the constraints relative to distant teaching sites: provides traveling time between the two locations, limits the number of displacements between sites in the same day, etc.

You specify the site of the rooms from the list of rooms or if you want to allocate the rooms to the courses after the placement, the site of the courses from the list of courses.

Active remote site management

  1. Go to the menu Parameters > institution > Sites.
  2. Tick Activate.
  3. Click on the creation line, enter the name of the site and validate with the key [Enter]. Enter every site.
  4. In the array of the inter-site transit, double-click in the column Duration to impose a delay between two courses on different sites: this way, if you use the automatic placement, EDT will not immediately place successive courses on sites that are to far away.
  5. Indicate how many site changes you authorize per day for the teachers and classes, and at what time of the day.

Specify the rooms’ site

  1. Go to the tab Timetable > Rooms >  List.
  2. Specify the column Site. If you do not see this column, click on the button  on the top right of the list to display it (List).

Note: when you add a room to a course, the course inherits the site of this room.

Specify the courses’ site

Use this process if you have planned to allocate the rooms to the courses after the placement. If not, allocate the site to the rooms (see above).

  1. Go to the tab Timetable > Course > List.
  2. Specify the column Site. If you do not see this column, click on the button  on the top right of the list to display it (List).

Display the site in the courses

  1. Go to the menu My preferences > grids > Contents of the courses.
  2. Select the concerned resource in the first drop-down menu (timetable of the teachers/classes/students/rooms, etc.).
  3. Tick Site.

Attribute a color to the course according to the site

  1. Go to the menu My preferences > grids > Contents of the courses.
  2. Select the concerned resource in the first drop-down menu (timetable of the teachers/classes/students/rooms, etc.).
  3. In the second drop-down menu, indicate that you want to display the colors of the site in the courses.

See when course placement does not comply with the constraints of the sites

  1. In all the displays  Timetable, select the course and click on it to transfer to diagnosis mode (Diagnosis of a course).
  2. Displace the green frame on the wanted slot. If the preceding course or the following course is located on another site and the transit time is in compliance, the symbol  is displayed on the course form in front of the concerned resource.
