Group with a variable population

Create the courses with the option Manage as groups with a variable population allows the generation of the groups where you can later modify the students week to week (for personalized accompaniment for example).

Create a course with the option "Manage as groups with a variable population"

  1. Create a course with all the teachers and classes that will work in parallel. All the groups created will be with variable population. It is not a problem if, for some groups, the number of students never changes: it will be sufficient to define the list of students as valid until the end of the year.
  2. Open the course specification window [Ctrl + R] and specify the subjects, classes, etc. per teacher. If the class meetings must be accounted for as personalized accompaniment, choose the subjects labeled PA (Personalized accompaniment).
  3. Tick Manage as groups with a variable population and choose the distribution mode (Complex courses).
  4. The class meetings are displayed with the icon . Groups in which you can modify the students are created; they are displayed in the list of groups with the icon .

Note: it is possible to create a personalized accompaniment course with a single teacher. For this, open the specification window as you would for a complex course with several class meetings, tick the option Manage as groups with a variable population and select One class meeting per teacher.

New  Transforming a classic group into a variable population group

It is now possible to turn a course into a variable population course even if students in the class are otherwise occupied.

From a timetable grid or list of courses, select the course, right click and choose Manage as groups with a variable population.

Modify students from one group of a course to another within the same week

By default, the allocation of groups with a variable population may change from week to week, but not within the same week.

To indicate to the software that the group must not be the same from one day to the next, from Timetable > Groups >  Timetable, select one of the courses, right click  and choose Differentiate the group having a variable population: a new group is crated; you can now act on the composition of one without affecting that of the other.
