Instant Messaging (Chat)

This feature allows teachers and staff to communicate in an instantaneous manner.

Start an instant message 

  1. Click on the button  in the tool bar.  New  The green circle indicates your status and means that you are Available. Other statuses exist:
    • : Do not disturb. You tell potential contacts that you do not want to receive a message.
    • : Invisible. You appear in the list of possible recipients, but you are considered Not connectedWhen the right to disconnect is enabled (Right to disconnect), during the defined days and time slots, this status is automatically assigned to you.
    • : OngoingThis does not prevent teachers having class from consulting the message transmitted
  2. In the popup widow, tick the teachers and/or staff with whom you wish to converse. Logged-in users are displayed at the top of the list with their status.
  3. Click on Start a chat.
  4. In the popup widow, enter your message and click on Send: the message is displayed as a notification on the screens of the connected recipients. Clicking on this notification opens the discussion window.

Note: If you send an instant message to a user who is not logged in, he/she will find it in their discussions.

Find an instant message 

  1. Go to the tab Communication > Messaging service >  Discussions.
  2. In the panel on the left, select Chat.
