Teaching service

A teaching service refers to a set of class meetings of a course that share the same resources and ensures continuity between class meetings: in terms of the pedagogical progression (Progression), the numbering of the class meetings in the schedules (Numbering), etc.

By default, HYPERPLANNING considers that a teaching service assembles all the class meetings of the same subject followed by the same public regardless of the teacher.

All the teaching services are displayed in the tab Studies >Teaching services >  List.

Modify the default configuration

  1. Go to the menu Parameters > course > Services .
  2. You can choose the option by taking into account the teachers if you prefer that a teaching service be created automatically for every teacher; if several teachers teach the same subject to the same public, several teaching services are created.
  3. If you want to apply this new configuration to existing services, tick Also apply the above parameters to the existing services.

Modify the parameters for only one service

The configuration that is applied by default to all the teaching services can be customized service by service.

  1. Go to the display Studies > Teaching services >  List.
  2. Choose the type of resources (subjects, teachers, classes, groupings) in the drop-down menu according to the point of entry that you want.
  3. Select a resource in the list on the left: all its services are displayed to the right.
  4.  Double-clicking in the column  to make the icon appear or disappear.

Note: as soon as a service has been customized in relation to the default configuration, the icon is displayed in the last column. To reinstate the default configuration, select the concerned services, right click and choose the command Reset the services.

Declare that the public is occasional to avoid the creation of new services

Every time you add public to a course, HYPERPLANNING creates a new service. For class meetings where a temporary public is added remains as the same teaching service, the public must be stated as occasional.

  1. Go to the display Studies > Teaching services >  List.
  2. Choose the type of resources (subjects, teachers, classes, groupings) in the drop-down menu according to the point of entry that you want.
  3. Select a resource in the list on the left: all its services are displayed to the right.
  4. Double-click in the column Public > Occasional.
  5. In the popup window, tick the public that should not lead to the creation of a new service when added to a course with a regular public.

Note: the stating of an occasional public can be made in the early stages or once the services are generated by HYPERPLANNING; in this case, HYPERPLANNING merges the different services having a regular public with the occasional public.
