PRONOTE

If you use PRONOTE, transfer the data in EDT to PRONOTE to be able to enter the in homework notebooks, enter the absences and publish the timetables in the different online Webspaces (Parents Webspace, Teachers Webspace, etc.).

We recommend working in the following way:

At the beginning of the academic year, you initialize your PRONOTE base with the data from EDT, then you connect a Client EDT to your PRONOTE base to conduct the timetable modifications in the PRONOTE base.

If you have not acquired the right to connect EDT to PRONOTE, program transfers between the two databases.

At the beginning of the academic year, you initialize your PRONOTE base with the data from EDT, then you regularly transfer the EDT data to the PRONOTE base.

Initialization of the PRONOTE base

The best way to construct the PRONOTE base is initializing it with the data from EDT: this way you are sure to start the year with concordant data.

Verify that the EDT courses are sufficiently specified for PRONOTE

All the courses of the EDT base will be read by PRONOTE; however, if the complex courses are not sufficiently detailed, they will not appear in all the timetables and it will be impossible to take the roll call or fill in the homework notebook for these courses. Likewise, if the courses in groups do not contain students, they will not appear in the students’ timetables, and it will be impossible to take the roll call for these courses. To find them in EDT and proceed with the necessary adjustments, launch the command Extract > Extract the courses that are insufficiently detailed for PRONOTE from the list of courses.

Transfer the data to a server PRONOTE that is hosted by Index Education

Prerequisite  You must login as the SPR.

  1. From EDT, launch the command To PRONOTE > Assisted transfer.
  2. Follow the steps suggested by the wizard.
  3.  New  When transferring EDT to PRONOTE, choose the connection modes you wish to authorize/prohibit, to avoid any unwanted connection. Double-click to choose the people and the type of connection allowed.
  4. The file needed to build the PRONOTE database is transferred directly to the hosted Server and if you have connection rights for EDT - PRONOTE, you are proposed to open a Client EDT connected to the new PRONOTE base to continue working directly on the PRONOTE base.

Transfer the data to a server PRONOTE (not hosted by Index Education)

  1. From EDT, launch the command To PRONOTE > Manual transfer.
  2. In the popup window, select the folder destination and under the documents tick those you want to recover in PRONOTE.
  3. Save: EDT generates a PourPRONOTE.zip file
  4. From a Client PRONOTE connected to a new PRONOTE base, launch the command File > New base > From EDT 2014/2015/2016/2017/2018/2019/2020. Caution, this command overwrites the data in the base. If your base contains data that you want to retain, use the command File > Imports/Exports > EDT > Recover the data.
  5. In the popup window, indicate the file PourPRONOTE.zip generated from EDT.

Modification of a timetable in the PRONOTE base

Prerequisite  You have both PRONOTE and EDT in the same version, same number of teachers and you have the connection rights for EDT to PRONOTE (they are included by default in the EDT Network license; you must acquire the rights if you have EDT Single-user version).

Connect a Client EDT to a PRONOTE base

  1. If you do not already have Client EDT, download it on our Internet site and install it.
  2. At the launching of Client EDT, click on the button Add the address of a new server.
  3. In the popup window, transfer the IP address and the TCP port of the Server PRONOTE visible in:
    • PRONOTE - Non-hosted  Version: in the Server PRONOTE, in the panel Publication parameters,
    • PRONOTE - Hosted  Version: in the hosting console, in the panel Server PRONOTE. If you know the institution number (RNE) you can directly enter it (IP Address = RNE.index-education.net, Port TCP = 49300).
  4. Click on Validate: a connection button appears; it allows the connection to the PRONOTE base thus becoming the common base.

Note: be careful not to confuse the button allowing you to connect to the PRONOTE database (in green) with the button allowing you to access the EDT database (in blue).

Alternative: Transfer the timetable to a PRONOTE base

If you do not want to work directly on the PRONOTE base, you must regularly transfer the data from the EDT base to the PRONOTE base.

The transfer can be conducted manually or planned at the wanted frequency. Note that the creation of new data interrupts the automatic transfer: a manual transfer and data matching is required before resuming the automatic transfer.

Manually transfer EDT data to PRONOTE

  1. From EDT, launch the command To PRONOTE > Manual transfer, save the *.zip file and if you want, tick all related files (photos, standard letters, letters sent, documents attached).
  2. From Client PRONOTE, launch the command Imports/Exports > EDT > Recover the data and indicate the *.zip file generated from EDT.
  3. Import on the current date, by ticking the box Update the timetables, the teachers' absences and replacements.
  4. Match the concerned data and validate.

Automatically transfer the data from EDT to PRONOTE

  1. From EDT, launch the command To PRONOTE > Configure the automatic transfer of data:
    • PRONOTE - Non-hosted  Version: tick Activate the automatic save for PRONOTE and choose the frequency of the save. Select the option I am not hosted, I designate a directory to which the file with the EDT data will be exported
    • PRONOTE - Hosted  Version: tick Activate the automatic save for PRONOTE and choose the frequency of the save. Select the option I am hosted, I specify my hosting No. and enter your No. The EDT data is automatically recovered in the hosted PRONOTE base, you are exempt from the next step.
  2. From the Server PRONOTE (Non-hosted version only) launch the command Imports/Exports > EDT > Automatic data recovery.
  3. In the popup window, activate the import, choose the options and make sure that the folder in which PRONOTE will look for the files is the same as the one indicated in EDT.
