E-mail dispatching parameters
With EDT Single-user
- Go to the menu Configuration > Configure the sending of e-mail for this workstation.
- Enter the senders name and mailing address (the recipients can see these elements if the sender has an address outside the authorized domains) and specify the information concerning your SMPT server by clicking on the button . In general, you fill in the information related to your academic SMTP server: contact your academic technical service or search on the Internet, this information is often put online by the Regional Educational Board (Académies).
- Click on the button Test the sending of e-mail to verify the configuration. If you get the message Time limit exceeded, increase the server's waiting delay.
With EDT Network: Option1: Centralize the sending of e-mail from the server
- The commissioning of e-mail to the server has several advantages:
- a single configuration (in terms of the server);
- no lost e-mail in the case of a malfunction (if the SMTP server is down, the e-mails are kept on the EDT Server and sent later);
- no more waiting while sending (user can continue to work or exit EDT immediately after sending).
Activate the centralized sending of e-mail from the Server
- Go to the menu Server > E-mail dispatching parameters.
- Tick Delegate the sending of all e-mail to the Server EDT (or to the PRONOTE server if you are connected to a common database).
- If you are hosted, the solution provided by Index Education does not require any configuration.
- If not, enter the senders name and mailing address (the recipients can see these elements if the dispatching user has an address outside the authorized domains) and specify the information concerning your SMPT server by clicking on the button
